¹ [A Psalm] of David.

Unto thee, O Jehovah, do I lift up my soul. ² O my God, in thee have I trusted,
Let me not be put to shame;
Let not mine enemies triumph over me.

¹⁰ The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have [it] abundantly.

²⁴ But I hold not my life of any account as dear unto myself, so that I may accomplish my course, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

⁹ For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might become rich.

³ For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but so to think as to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to each man a measure of faith.

¹⁸ Now when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,

⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound unto you; that ye, having always all sufficiency in everything, may abound unto every good work:

¹⁴ Jehovah increase you more and more,
You and your children.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains:
From whence shall my help come? ² My help [cometh] from Jehovah,
Who made heaven and earth. ³ He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:
He that keepeth thee will not slumber. ⁴ Behold, he that keepeth Israel
Will neither slumber nor sleep. ⁵ Jehovah is thy keeper:
Jehovah is thy shade upon thy right hand. ⁶ The sun shall not smite thee by day,
Nor the moon by night. ⁷ Jehovah will keep thee from all evil;
He will keep thy soul. ⁸ Jehovah will keep thy going out and thy coming in
From this time forth and for evermore.

¹ Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of Jehovah is risen upon thee. ² For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but Jehovah will arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. ³ And nations shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me; because Jehovah hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening [of the prison] to them that are bound; ² to proclaim the year of Jehovah's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; ³ to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.
⁴ And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

³¹ Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

¹⁹ Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own; ²⁰ for ye were bought with a price: glorify God therefore in your body.

² Beloved, I pray that in all things thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

¹ And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to observe to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that Jehovah thy God will set thee on high above all the nations of the earth: ² and all these blessings shall come upon thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God. ³ Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. ⁴ Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy beasts, the increase of thy cattle, and the young of thy flock. ⁵ Blessed shall be thy basket and thy kneading-trough. ⁶ Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
⁷ Jehovah will cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thee: they shall come out against thee one way, and shall flee before thee seven ways. ⁸ Jehovah will command the blessing upon thee in thy barns, and in all that thou puttest thy hand unto; and he will bless thee in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee. ⁹ Jehovah will establish thee for a holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee; if thou shalt keep the commandments of Jehovah thy God, and walk in his ways. ¹⁰ And all the peoples of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of Jehovah; and they shall be afraid of thee. ¹¹ And Jehovah will make thee plenteous for good, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which Jehovah sware unto thy fathers to give thee. ¹² Jehovah will open unto thee his good treasure the heavens, to give the rain of thy land in its season, and to bless all the work of thy hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. ¹³ And Jehovah will make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if thou shalt hearken unto the commandments of Jehovah thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do [them], ¹⁴ and shalt not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Let not mine enemies triumph over me. ³ Yea, none that wait for thee shall be put to shame:
They shall be put to shame that deal treacherously without cause. ⁴ Show me thy ways, O Jehovah;
Teach me thy paths. ⁵ Guide me in thy truth, and teach me;
For thou art the God of my salvation;
For thee do I wait all the day. ⁶ Remember, O Jehovah, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindness;
For they have been ever of old. ⁷ Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions:
According to thy lovingkindness remember thou me,
For thy goodness' sake, O Jehovah. ⁸ Good and upright is Jehovah:
Therefore will he instruct sinners in the way. ⁹ The meek will he guide in justice;
And the meek will he teach his way. ¹⁰ All the paths of Jehovah are lovingkindness and truth
Unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. ¹¹ For thy name's sake, O Jehovah,
Pardon mine iniquity, for it is great. ¹² What man is he that feareth Jehovah?
Him shall he instruct in the way that he shall choose. ¹³ His soul shall dwell at ease;
And his seed shall inherit the land. ¹⁴ The friendship of Jehovah is with them that fear him;
And he will show them his covenant. ¹⁵ Mine eyes are ever toward Jehovah;
For he will pluck my feet out of the net. ¹⁶ Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me;
For I am desolate and afflicted. ¹⁷ The troubles of my heart are enlarged:
Oh bring thou me out of my distresses. ¹⁸ Consider mine affliction and my travail;
And forgive all my sins. ¹⁹ Consider mine enemies, for they are many;
And they hate me with cruel hatred. ²⁰ Oh keep my soul, and deliver me:
Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in thee. ²¹ Let integrity and uprightness preserve me,
For I wait for thee. ²² Redeem Israel, O God,
Out of all of his troubles.

²⁰ There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise;
But a foolish man swalloweth it up.

²² A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children;
And the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the righteous.

¹¹ If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true [riches]?

⁸ Owe no man anything, save to love one another: for he that loveth his neighbor hath fulfilled the law.

²³ whatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men;

⁹ Honor Jehovah with thy substance,
And with the first-fruits of all thine increase: ¹⁰ So shall thy barns be filled with plenty,
And thy vats shall overflow with new wine.

²⁸ For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doth not first sit down and count the cost, whether he have [wherewith] to complete it?

¹ Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear Jehovah: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two children to be bondmen. ² And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me; what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thy handmaid hath not anything in the house, save a pot of oil. ³ Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbors, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. ⁴ And thou shalt go in, and shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and pour out into all those vessels; and thou shalt set aside that which is full. ⁵ So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons; they brought [the vessels] to her, and she poured out. ⁶ And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed. ⁷ Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy sons of the rest.

⁷ The rich ruleth over the poor;
And the borrower is servant to the lender.

³³ But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
